Terry Moore’s “Death”

No, this is not an obituary. Far from it. While Terry Moore’s emotional, rollercoaster of a series “Strangers in Paradise” may have just finished its very lengthy and heartfelt run, the creator is just getting started. He’s got some big plans at Marvel coming up, some of it still under wraps.

But none of that is the point of this post. I merely wanted to show off how crazy talented this guy is (not to mention how insanely down to earth, normal and nice of a guy he is too… sorry, Terry if I just blew your Texan image). Not only can he write one hell of a yarn (with a great knack for dialogue), but he really is a versatile artist. Take a look at this custom illustration he did of “Death” from Vertigo’s Sandman series.

Death

Not just a great piece of artwork, but a fun and unique approach to the character. “I decided, instead of a pinup, to show Death actually working, in fact, doing a little housekeeping by taking inventory. See, everybody who has ever lived and died is in a hall of skulls, from Adam to now,” explains Terry. For more details (and to see a larger version of the piece) check out Terry’s blog.
